Club Blue 2016

Club Blue was started in 2014 as a charity in Rockford, IL. In 2016 I was given free-reign to design the look and feel of the event. The only constraints we were given were that the event would take place in an abandoned warehouse, and we had to make it look like a nightclub.

I wanted to take full advantage of the space given to me, making it feel both incredibly immersive, and like a concert all at the same time. With near unlimited rigging options I was able to place beam fixtures throughout the ceiling of the space, covering a 50’ wide by 100’ long space with a grid of 24 5R Beams. The stage area was outfitted with 24 Mac101’s for tight wash looks, as well as 16 linear LED fixtures that produced exciting low-res pixel mapping effects.

For the final layer we video mapped the entire 50’ x 19’ rear cinder block wall that integraded with the LED video panel DJ Facade. The graphics for video were linked with lighting control for cohesive looks and effects.

Finally, uplighting was used throughout the interior space, and wash lighting was used over the food and bar elements on the rooftop.
